Where can I go to become a Certified CHW?
INCHWA-Recognized Training signifies that a program has been thoroughly evaluated and meets essential competency standards for Community Health Workers (CHWs). These programs provide an engaging, hands-on learning experience designed to prepare students for real-world impact.

Key features include:
-
A capstone project that encourages students to apply their skills, access resources, and collaborate with peers
-
Instructors with lived CHW experience, selected by the training vendor, who bring authenticity and passion to the learning environment
-
A hallmark of INCHWA-recognized training is its experiential, participatory approach rooted in adult learning principles, emphasizing the culture of the CHW profession by nurturing group engagement and peer connection
These training vendors and programs reflect INCHWA’s commitment to high-quality, community-centered CHW education.

How to become a recognized Training Vendor?
A unique INCHWA Partner
When INCHWA recognizes your CHW training program, it means:

· Public endorsement of your training, confirming alignment with both state and national CCHW standards
· Each student will receive an official, INCHWA-issued e-certificate upon successful completion of the training—portable, easily shareable, and verifiable for employers and professional networks.
· Inclusion of a $40 INCHWA membership fee within your program tuition, granting each graduate a 1-year membership and enrollment processing into the INCHWA Public Health Heroes' Network.

To receive INCHWA recognition for your CHW training program, you must complete a two-step approval process:

· Part 1: Training Vendor Approval – Meet the organizational and operational requirements to be recognized as an approved training provider
· Part 2: Curriculum and Delivery Review – Ensure your training content and instructional methods align with INCHWA’s standards for CHW education and best practices
