Sometimes we can get a negative thought or event stuck in our head, and we replay the scenario over and over in our mind. We rehash feelings attached to an event or we continue to think about the causes and consequences of what we said or did or didn’t say or do. This can lead to the development of anxiety, depression, or even cause existing mental health and physical conditions to become worse. There are many ways to counter rumination.
